Sweden Recap

My girlfriend and I have just landed in Munich after our summer holiday in Sweden. After 9 days of exploring the South of Sweden, we are pretty sad that we have to return to Germany.

Our tour started in Uppsala, continuing with a trip to a camping site at the Vänern which is Europe’s largest lake. Before arriving at the camping site, we also had a stop in Örebro. The next day, we headed to Göteborg but spend the day in Smögen. After also having explored Göteborg, we continued driving southwards to Malmö. Jönköping next to the Vättern was our next destination before driving to Stockholm making stops in Gränna and Norrköping.

Overall, we just have positive feelings about this trip! The cities and the landscape were just mesmerizing! We stopped quite a few times during our long rides to admire the nature next to the road. Driving itself was also very enjoyable as the maximum speed was 120 km/h and most of the time even less. Coming from Germany, this was quite a nice feeling not to be stressed by fast cars in your mirror. Nevertheless, the roads were a bit strange because sometimes line markings were missing and I still don’t fully understand the concept of the roundabouts. Another thing we noticed pretty quickly was that there are many motorway stations often combined with extremely large supermarkets. While you could buy almost everything there, the real challenge was to find what you need in the first place.

Overall, the by far most impressive thing was the nature. Forest and seas everywhere and ocean with cliffs at the coast. We are already looking forward to come back to Sweden, for also exploring it’s north but most importantly to eat a ton of cinnamon rolls again!
